Pure gestural expressionism done in memory of Cy Twombly who passed recently and who had a profound impact on my work. I had taken my son to see his show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles back in the mid-nineties. It was a totally informative experience. His sense of freedom made it possible for me to discover a freedom of my own in my approach to the blank canvas. The title refers to the fact that he worked as a cryptologist in the second world war.
